As the Director of the K&M Center, Inc for over 15 years I have been helping children with learning differences reach their potential. Visit our web site at www.kandmcenter.com.

Bits of wisdom pass by my desk everyday. Parents email and call with new research they find
and questions they want me to answer. I continue to learn from both the insights parents share with me and from the ideas I get while answering their questions.  Visit my blog www.bitsofwisdomforall.com

The Story of the K&M Center

In 1993, Karen and Melissa were each beginning private practices in Educational Therapy and were introduced by a mutual friend. They both quickly realized that there were many more students in need of their services than they could treat individually. They also saw that their own backgrounds and training blended well, covering the latest research in learning theory, developmental theory, and educational methodology. In addition, Melissa and Karen found they shared the unique goal of remediating students' fundamental learning difficulties.

Helping Children Reach Their Potential

Karen’s and Melissa’s mission in creating The K&M Center was to help every student learn to his or her potential. Twenty years later, that mission hasn't changed. Each child who arrives at the center is seen as an individual with a unique learning style and talents, and receives a tailored treatment plan addressing the specific areas needing remediation. The K&M Center works with parents, teachers, tutors and other professionals to create a program that truly works for that child. The joy of helping children learn to do well in school, and in life, motivates Melissa and Karen to provide the best learning center possible.

Karen and Melissa also developed a line of Targeted Learning Concept™ products, designed to address a specific learning need. The K&M Center's unique approach to customizing a learning plan sets us apart from other learning centers, and each of our products has been developed as an outcome of achieving success with students. Targeted Learning Concepts™ was created as a way to empower parents, tutors and external educational specialists to target the specific areas of needs of their students. Each of our products have been extensively used in our center and proven to help struggling students learn.
